wireless nashuaWireless Downtown: One Month Out

Keeping pace with technological advancements in an urban setting is critical.  It can mean the difference of ranking first as a viable arena for business and academic pursuits or simply put-second runner up.

Amenities like downtown-wide wireless keeps Nashua attractive to professionals, students, locals and visitors alike.  Downtown is home to two leading hospitals, the city's largest employer, BAE Systems, City Hall, the Millyard district and hundreds of business both at street level and in upper floor offices which means that a whole lot of work gets accomplished here in the heart of our city.  Thanks to a powerhouse partnership of downtown superstars*, that work can get done whenever and wherever you find yourself in our traditional commercial core.

Free WiFi signal has beamed throughout the downtown for just over a month now- so what do the people downtown think?  We put feet to the street to find out.

Lindsey Jones, Visitor-  "A wireless downtown is a downtown keeping ahead of the inevitable.  Why not be a leader in the ways of tomorrow?"

Ashley Chouramanis, Bartender- "Having WiFi anytime you want it here (Martha's Exchange) is huge.  Customers know that they can access the Internet reliably and it means that they come to do business or to work while they grab lunch.  I've seen a significant increase in the number of business people, and they are bringing their employees with them too."

Brittany Campbell, Resident- "Its awesome- we should have it everywhere!  Think about it...its 2008."

Jessica Eshleman, Marketing Manager- "Having the ability jump online at any of my meetings throughout the downtown means that I have access to a super highway of information that makes my meetings more engaging and more successful, wherever I am."

Students are preparing to return to the many colleges and universities in the greater Nashua area and are sure to be excited to find a free wireless signal available to them downtown.  Why crowd into one big-box bookstore cafe to catch a signal when you can take your pick of the several outstanding cafes and small parks sprinkled throughout the downtown?
